The expression “d’ici là” (from “here to there”, “between now and then”) denotes a gap, in both space and time; a ford, from one river bank to the other, a passage from one moment to another.
The idea here is to combine two authors, two ways of seeing and understanding round a single subject which emerges in the hollow, in the gap between: a moment and space of freedom, through which the reader wades.
Strike a chord between two subjects, leaving a place for each one to resonate. Should the pictures and text are given out to be looked at and read, their relationship changes. Without ensnaring themselves in illustration or commentary, they denote together a common source
